The LED strip can be cut every 3 LEDs where marked. If you want to use the cut-off piece, you can do so provided you have a soldering iron, flux and soldering skills. A power lead would need to be soldered to the end that you cut-off and then sealed with heat shrink. Be aware however that we do not warranty LEDs that are not soldered by us but it's certainly an option. If the goal is to end up with two - 8' LED strips, we offer those online.
