The push-button switch included in this kit is a 12vdc switch which includes a screw-on waterproof rubber boot. Can be mounted using the pre-applied 3M tape OR a 3/8" hole. Here's a link to the switch by itself . You don't have to use the switch if you don't want to but you'll need a way to turn the lights on / off.
