One single 1/2 ounce bottle of 3M Adhesion primer will cover a full 16' LED strip containing 300 LEDs - perhaps more. All depends on how liberally you apply it. When in doubt, buy more. It's not that expensive but it's absolutely essential to the installation. Plus, it's not something you can find quickly/easily locally; particularly on weekends or holidays.
