3M Tape (with 3M Adhesion Primer) can be affixed to polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces. That said, the surface must be smooth, flat and one continuous surface. If the wood surface is too rough or porous, fasten ( screws or rivets) some flat bar plastic or aluminum to the wood surface and then mount the LED strips to that flat bar plastic (or aluminum). We do it all the time.
