The power lead wire comes out of the LED strip enclosure on one end -- not behind the led strip. That wire needs to connect to the existing tail-turn-brake circuit of the trailer some way. How you do that depends largely on your RV and the location you choose to mount the LED strips but for most installations, you'll need to drill a hole in the RV so that power lead wire can connect to the lighting circuit.
